About Me
Many people come to therapy because they feel stuck—repeating patterns, carrying guilt or self-doubt, or knowing something in their life needs to change but not knowing how to move forward. My role as a therapist is to provide both support and accountability. I believe meaningful growth happens when we are willing to look honestly at ourselves, challenge the beliefs and behaviors that hold us back, and step outside of our comfort zones. Therapy with me is a space that is direct, honest, and free of judgment, where you can speak openly and work toward real, lasting change.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Master of Social Work, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 17 years working as a paralegal in family and criminal law, where I developed a deep understanding of the complexities of human behavior and difficult life circumstances people often face. Supporting individuals and families through high-conflict and emotionally charged situations taught me a great deal about resilience, accountability, and the importance of honest conversations—lessons that strongly influence how I practice therapy today.
I often describe myself as an accountability therapist. My role is not simply to listen; it is to help you identify patterns that may be holding you back and challenge you to move toward meaningful change. Growth can feel uncomfortable at times, but it is often within that discomfort that the most important breakthroughs occur. My goal is to walk alongside my clients as they build greater self-awareness, confidence, and the ability to make choices that align with the life they want to create.
At the same time, therapy must be a judgment-free environment. Clients need to feel safe being completely honest about their experiences, struggles, and goals. Because of my background and experience, there is very little that surprises me. I approach each session with openness, curiosity, and respect, and it is an honor to support people as they navigate some of the most personal and transformative work of their lives.
A strong emphasis in my work is helping individuals develop healthy boundaries, emotional balance, and a stronger sense of self-efficacy. Many people enter therapy carrying the weight of guilt, shame, low self-esteem, or long-standing patterns that limit their ability to move forward. Together, we work to challenge those barriers so you can move toward greater clarity, emotional freedom, and a more authentic way of living.
I utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as:
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
• Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
• Strengths-Based Therapy
• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), when appropriate
I strongly believe that the relationship between client and therapist is far more important than any specific modality. Research consistently shows that trust, rapport, and a strong therapeutic alliance are among the greatest predictors of successful therapy outcomes. Because of this, I encourage clients to pay attention to how they feel in the therapeutic relationship. If at any point you feel that I am not the right fit for you, I want you to feel comfortable saying so. Therapy is about your journey, not mine. Finding the right therapist matters, and if that therapist is not me, I will gladly help you connect with someone who may be a better match for your needs and goals.
I currently provide telehealth therapy services to clients located in Virginia, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah, allowing individuals to access support from the comfort and privacy of their own environment.
Change is rarely easy, but it is possible when you are willing to do the work. Therapy is not about perfection—it is about gaining insight, developing healthier patterns, and creating a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are. Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition, feeling stuck in old patterns, or simply ready to grow in new ways, I am committed to meeting you where you are and supporting you through the process.
If you are ready to challenge yourself, gain clarity, and move toward meaningful, lasting change, I would be honored to walk alongside you on that journey.
Who I Work Best With
My approach tends to work best for individuals who are ready to engage in meaningful self-reflection and personal growth. Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable people who have reached a point where they recognize that something in their lives needs to change, even if they are unsure exactly how to move forward.
I work well with clients who:
• Are open to honest conversations and constructive challenges
• Want to better understand their patterns, behaviors, and relationships
• Are seeking healthier boundaries and improved emotional balance
• Feel stuck in cycles of guilt, self-doubt, or people-pleasing
• Are navigating major life transitions or personal growth
• Are ready to take an active role in creating change in their lives
Therapy is a collaborative process. My role is to provide guidance, insight, and accountability while creating a supportive environment where you can explore challenges and develop new ways of thinking and responding.
If you are looking for a therapist who will both support you and challenge you in a respectful, thoughtful way, my approach may be a good fit.
What Working With Me Is Like
Clients often describe my style as direct, supportive, and honest. I believe therapy works best when it is both a safe space and a place where meaningful growth is encouraged.
In our work together, you can expect thoughtful conversations that explore not only what is happening in your life, but also the patterns and beliefs that may be influencing your experiences. I will listen carefully, ask important questions, and offer perspective when it may help you see things in a new way.
At times, I may challenge you. This is not about criticism or judgment—it is about helping you recognize opportunities for growth and supporting you as you move toward meaningful change. Many clients appreciate having a therapist who is willing to be honest while still maintaining compassion and respect.
Our work will always move at a pace that feels manageable for you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your goals, experiences, and readiness for change guide the direction of our work together.
Above all, my goal is to create a space where you feel supported, respected, and empowered to develop the insight and tools needed to move forward in a way that aligns with the life you want to build.
